Olivia Lynne: 21 Weeks

How Far Along? 21 weeks.

Size of Baby? A carrot. According to my BabyCenter App, Poppy should be 10 1/2 inches from head to heel, and weigh about 12oz. However... we discovered last week at our 20 week ultrasound that she was already that weight and that long. Ha! So who really knows how big she is? All I know is that she's happy, active and protesting spicy food.
Gender? Poppy is a sweet baby GIRL!!!!

Name? Little miss Olivia Lynne Anderson. My father suggested the name Olivia when he and I were discussing our favorite girls names way back when I was still in high school. Dad said he always liked the name Olivia because "it's classy," and that he admired it whenever he watched The Walton's and heard Pa Walton call Momma Walton. I remember telling Carl back then (even though I knew we were no where near marriage or baby status) that if we ever had a little girl her name would be Olivia. Her middle name, Lynne, is a love nudge to Carl's mother, my mama-in-law, who I consider one of my best friends.

We still lovingly refer to Olivia as Poppy (I think it's safe to say she's stuck with that nickname), but we've also started calling her Livie.

Weight Gain? I've gained 10lbs since finding out I was pregnant.

Stretch Marks? Still no stretch marks. Coconut oil for the win!

Belly button in or out? In (although getting more and more shallow).

Wedding rings on or off? Happily on, although my fingers are a tiny bit swollen in the mornings.

Maternity Clothes? Maternity pants rock my socks (aside from when they're falling down to my socks.) Still loving leggings and dresses/tunics.

Sleep? I don't know how I ever survived without my Snoogle. For cereal. Sleeping more soundly throughout the night, and definitely feeling exhausted by the end of the day. Twice this week I came home and had a quick cat nap.

Movement? Olivia is such a wiggle worm! I'm finding that she's most active in the morning on my way to work, around 4-5 in the afternoon, and right when I'm laying down for bed around 9:30 pm. Some of her kicks make me jump they're so strong. I'm totally convinced she's part Ninja!

Symptoms? Heartburn has been better this week, although I've now added fresh pineapple to the no-go list of heartburn foods.

Best Pregnancy Brain Moments? Taking observational teachers notes about my kiddies on the complete wrong side of my sticky notes (meaning I'll now have to tape them into the binder backwards, rather than just pealing them off and sticking them on). Also got into the car today after leaving my keys on the hood...

Mood Swings? I've been feeling pretty happy lately, although watching 9/11 documentaries, seeing pictures or reading poems has really hit me hard this year. I mean, every year I get upset (it's routine I have nightmares about those poor poor people who jumped from the twin towers as they were burning) but this morning sadness completely consumed me as I read an article before work. I just sat in my car bawling and had to reapply my make-up before venturing into school for class pictures.

Cravings? Apples and untoasted plain bagels with Philadelphia cream cheese.

Food Aversions? Tuna, however, I discovered this week that I can actually be in the same room as someone who eats it, as long as we're on opposite sides. Ha! (Thanks to my awesome co-workers Tammy and Ashley for keeping their Tuna-distance!)

Labor Signs? Still a long way out. Phew.

Best Moment This Week? Finding out Sunday afternoon with our loved ones that we're having a precious baby girl!! The excitement was almost unbearable! And since finding out it's little Olivia in there, I've fallen even more in love with her. I feel closer to her because I can now put a name to that sweet face. I spend so much time just rubbing my belly, talking to her.  The love is indescribable.

What I Miss? Being able to eat lemon-y things (my all time favorite) and spicy food (I miss tacos and Sriracha sauce).

Looking Forward To? Running dancing/fooling around during my second Color Run this weekend! Although I'll be rockin my rainbow tutu with a baby bump this time, I'm SO excited. My Sister is running it again with me this year, although our friend Lianne is joining us and hubby too! You can bet your ass I'm rolling around on the ground in the chalk again. Pregnant or not, it's a  Color Run must (picture overload this weekend to follow).

    1. Aww, thanks Shannon. I just hope my ass doesn't grow out of control, but it's apple picking season and I can't seem to control myself around cider donuts! Hahaha!
