The Cake Files: Mr. & Mrs. Ford

Saturday May 2nd was a beautiful Spring day for a wedding. The weather man teased of rain, but when Carl and I pulled up to Amanda's gorgeous tent venue at her family's rustic VT camp, the sun was shining. 

It took an hour for hubby and I to set out all of the 205 large cupcakes, 400 mini's, and the 2 layer cutting cake spotted with sparkly pink fondant gerbera daisies. Shiny vibrant hot pink, deep blue and metallic silver foils filled with maple cupcakes topped in maple buttercream (made with the brides families maple, of course) and crunchy salty bacon. Red velvet with cream cheese frosting, and vanilla with french vanilla buttercream.
One of the best parts of making the wedding cake for good friends? Actually getting to eat and enjoy my very own yummies at the reception. And enjoy them I did. 
Amanda looked absolutely stunning. Her new hubby was beaming with pride as she walked down the aisle. The wedding was gorgeous, and filled to the brim with high school friends; some of which I hadn't seen since graduation 8 years ago. 
Mike and Amanda, Carl and I are so thankful we were able to share your special day.
It's humbing to see two people so perfect for each other, and so in love. 
Continue to enjoy and love one another.
