Welcome, love bugs, to a brand new year!
A chance for a new beginning, a new adventure, a new outlook on life. A chance for change. Perhaps a change in bad habits, or a change of heart, or even just a change in hair style. That's what I love most about New Years. Sappy and cliche, I know, but I (like the other 99% of the population) look forward most to the reflection. I look forward to actually taking the time to consider and ponder my actions, my goals, my hopes, my dreams, my life, my future. It's the beginning of a new chapter. A chance to make a conscious effort to start fresh and make good choices. To reflect on your past, learn from your mistakes and move forward. A chance to consciously kick yourself in the ass and work towards achieving those goals, crossing out another line on that bucket list, or make an effort to add to that expanding bank of precious memories. It's a new year, friends. And I am, more than ever before, hopeful and optimistic that this one is going to be better than all the rest. One of those years that, in mine and Carl's book of life, is studded with neon pink and green and yellow sticky notes. Sticky notes that indicate beautiful life changes, shining successes, challenges that test us but we're able to overcome, and sweet dreams we've seen come true.
I've thought a lot about this lately, and I've come to the conclusion that I have no real interest in creating a long winded 'resolution' list. Instead, this year, I'm concentrating on 6 poignant words with 6 significant meanings. 6 words that I'll focus all of my energy on. 6 words that I'll live by, incorporate into each and every day, and hope to share with those around me, the ones I love, my family and friends.
"What have you done today to make you feel proud?"
And because no New Years post is complete without NYE pictures...
