It's been quite the week in the Anderson household. Last Sunday night my father-in-law was awake all night with a horrible tummy bug...which later made it's way to my mother-in-law...which finally made it's way to me. Early Saturday morning I awoke to the wretched feeling of something eating away at my abdomen. I had the cold sweats and a dizziness which can only be described as identical to stumbling off of one of those horrible man-powered merry-go-rounds at the local park. The truth of it is that most of the time I didn't know whether to lean over the toilet or sit on top of it. (Many would consider this TMI, but I'm just keepin' it real. Poop, puke and all. We've all been there, done that). It truly was the most horrible tummy bug I've ever experienced. So bad that even the thought of chocolate chip cookies made me gag, my head was banging as if someone had just used it as a Chinese dinner gong, and I felt so weak I didn't even care to speak proper sentences.
Thankfully I'm finally starting to feel a bit better (I've managed to keep down a pot of Greek yogurt and some veggies so far today - SUCCESS!) My sweet sweet hubby and in-laws have taken such good care of me, and on top of lots of cuddles, yesterday I received not one but TWO beautiful bouquets of 'feel better soon' flowers. During those brief moments when I wasn't dying in bed, it made me smile to see these vibrant beauties smiling at me. Lilies and sunflowers. My favorite.
Currently the tummy bug is residing in the depths of Carl's insides and I can't say he's relishing the experience. I woke up at 3am to an almighty bang to find he had collapsed against the bathroom door and banged his head. Poor bugger :( As he's not a big fan of flower bouquets, I'm instead spoiling him with lots of cuddles, making him his Ribena drinks whenever he needs them and leaving my laptop on Talk Sports during his naps. Hopefully come tomorrow he'll be feeling a bit better and we'll all be back to normal.
Feel free to send tummy-bug-hating thoughts this way, maybe we can scare the little bugger away once and for all.
I hope you've enjoyed a relaxed and HEALTHY weekend!
Happy Sunday, love bugs!
Lots of love, love, love,
