Stop and Smell the Roses: Week 15

Happy Wednesday, lovelies!!

It's that time again, folks! I'm joining the beautiful Mandy and taking a moment to Stop and Smell the Roses! And you should too! Come on, I know you want to. Do it. Do it. Do it! (In case you're wondering, yes, I'm that obnoxious and bossy in real life. Just ask my baby sister. Haha!) But in all seriousness, we'd love for you to join in the vlogging fun. Don't be shy, we won't bite ya! ;)
Okay so today I'm going all sentimental schmuck on you and talking about my favorite children's books and the impact they've had on my life. Please excuse my embarrassing choke-up towards the end, I really tried to keep it together but talking about my Momma makes me well up. What can I say? I'm a Momma's girl :)
Flabby Rabbit By: Joanne M Weber (I pronounced her name wrong on the video as I was flustered from trying not to cry. Haha it's JOANNE not Joan!)
Laura Numeroff Books Available on Amazon
I also may have screamed a little when I discovered she's written more books like: If You Give a Dog a Donut, If You Take a Mouse to School & Mouse Cookies and More: A Treasury. Holy smokes!! Jackpot!!
For more information on Laura Numeroff's wonderful books you can also visit her website

So please take a moment to share with me YOUR favorite children's books, or children's authors. I'm like a sponge ready to soak up all of that good literature to add to my ever growing collection! Haha!

Thanks for reading watching today, guys!
Enjoy the rest of your wonderful Wednesday!
Lots of love, love, love,

  3. I honestly don't know if I can pick a favorite children's book because my kids have a MILLION and I love so many. But if there is one I remember most from childhood it's Go Dog Go by Dr. Suess. I know it's a silly choice, but it was the one book that my brothers and I loved as kids and my parents would read it to us EVERY night! I also got to read it to Addie's preschool class this year and it was very special.

You are so cute and so gorgeous on all of your vlogs. You just make me smile :-) Love ya twine!!!

    xoxo

  4. Aaaaand I came so close to crying it's not even funny! I love the tradition your mom is starting with the Flabby Rabbit book. I always loved reading when I was growing up and it always makes me smile to see my boys sitting down with a book by their own choice. I can't remember any specific favorite books from when I was little, but since having my boys we've become big fans of the Eric Carle books. We absolutely wore them out when the boys were younger and even themed their first birthday parties around them. We also have some books about our university mascot, which cheesy as it may be, mean a lot to us because our university was a very special place to my husband and me and we love sharing that with our boys. :)

  5. My favorite book as a little girl was called The Little Old Man Who Could Not Read by Irma Simonton Black. It is about this little old man that makes toys and his wife goes on a trip. She leaves him the gorcery list and he goes shopping. He gets the things on the list by what the packaging looks like. It really is the sweetest book. I wish I still had it because I loved it so much. I think it may have been the book I first read by myself.

  6. I totally cried a few tears during this! I have so many favorite books...I could probably take over your entire comments section with my list. Here, in no random order, are my favorites: Hob Nob, any books by Tomie DePoala, The Polar Express, The Tale of the Easter Bunny, a book called Winken, Blinken and Nod, which is a giant book filled with poems and little rhymes...oh! And The Jolly Postman!!!!!

  7. I love children's books! My all-time favorite is Mrs Pig's Bulk Buy by Mary Rayner. My mom used to take me to the library every Sunday afternoon and I would constantly check it out. It's not in print anymore and I have sadly lost my copy. I also love the Berenstain Bear books. I've taken most of mine to KT's for the boys and we are almost finished completing the collection. Kaden loves the If You Give... books!

  8. My favorite is The Giving Tree and I love you forever

I do not think you could ever read enough to children they are sponges and retain everything. It is the best gift you could give them.
